My girlfriend and I (both American) have been teaching in Prague for about a year and are thinking about moving to Budapest, if possible.
I have a BA and 2 different TEFL certs, she has an Associates and the same 2 certs.
Having a hard time finding info - anyone have any good info/links on the requirements?
Nothing on the Dave's job boards right now -where else can we look? |

I work with several Hungarian teachers, so I know a bit about the scene there.
Just like in Prague, it's bad timing right now - contracts in the region are usually Sept/Oct through June. Also similarly to Prague, it's more common to find EFL jobs in person from in country. Not similarly to Prague, there is a huge economic crisis in Hungary right now. Not sure how this has affected the EFL market, but likely to be a depressed job market right now. |

Do you know anything about the requirements (CELTA/Bachelors/etc)? Or any specific schools we could contact?
Thank you so much for your reply! |

Similar to the CR; BA is not a legal requirement so far as I know, but a CELTA or equivalent usually needed (again, so far as I know). My friends in Hungary are literally hungry; I definitely can't point you in the direction of any schools that are hiring now! |
