Not so. Depending on the major, degrees from for-profit unis like UoP, Strayer, Kaplan, National American, etc., aren't accepted by quite a few US employers. Plus, not all traditional US universities accept transferable credits from these proprietary institutions. Ironically, UoP is currently having some accreditation woes.

A University of Phoenix degree is a blight on your CV. In some field other than education you might conceivably get lucky with an employer who doesn't recognize the name, but any school in the US will recognize the degree for what it is worth.
