Most of the folks on San le tun are legal, and act the same way as the "illegal crowd"...drunks be drunks....
My point was that the "illegal crowd" - those working on less than a proper visa - are no more prone to being drunk trouble makers than the legal crowd. In fact, I would bet they are more likely to keep a low profile. The guy on the scooter is the exception, not the rule.

Actually, I had never heard of San le tun before you mentioned it. Popular place for ex-pats in Beijing?

yeah Joe I think we agree...for the most part those who are doing something wrong tend not to shout out stuff when they are being filmed at an accident...and legal or not ...folks are pretty much the same.

San Le Tun is a popular bar street in Beijing but also has upscale fashions and knock off markets...restaurants and such cater to the ExPat crowd. Nigerians walk around asking for your telephone number and sling refreshments and English savvy dragon women cruze looking for that tkt to the promise land. I only go there for the Apple store as i find pale interpretations of western centric retail depressing.

Sounds a bit like Roppongi in Tokyo. Ick.

San Li Tun, literally Three (Chinese) Miles Village, because it was three Li from the city wall.
