i am contemplating coming back to taiwan to teach. please verify that the following steps are still legit:
1)buy one way airticket such as US- TPE with a third locale (hong kong) on the itenerary.
2)arrive in tpe. get a landing visa. is such still available? 30 or 60 days?
3)hunt/find a visa providing job. go to HK and get visa.
4)return to taiwan and set to work.
is such still avalid scheme or have regulations changed?
thanks! |

#1 is correct. As for #'s 2,3 & 4, Americans are visa exempt are they not? I know Canadians have 90 days visa exempt. If U.S citizens have visa exempt status, Taiwan immigration will stamp 'visa exempt' in your passport. This stamp will include your date of arrival and how many days you have in the country. Once you find a job, your visa exempt status can be converted into a work visa, or so I've been told. There should be no reason to fly to Hong Kong, unless your job search takes a while and you need to leave the country to get a fresh 90 days.
Hope this helps. |
