I applied to join the Peace Corps and just recently received an invitation to teach in Mongolia. The length of service is two years. In this time, I could theoretically come home once or twice. I would most likely be in one of the smaller cities or towns, not in the capital.
Can anybody provide me with information about the country in general and the schools in particular? I have to give them my decision by next Tuesday.
Thanks! |

No specific info for you, but I did run across this on Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/When-Things-Get-Dark-Mongolian/dp/B005ZO9ALG.
Also, I met a guy in SK who had been a Peace Corps volunteer in Mongolia in 2007 or '08 or so. He said that, while challenging, he loved his time there and hoped to go back someday. And also that the women were pretty hot, FWIW. |

Thanks for all the help. I'm still trying to decide. Also, that joke posted above was funny (in an awful kind of way!). |
