I am still waiting to read what you just quoted from me that I asked for: a coherent argument for the validity of savage capitalism.
The corruption of politicians has become so institutionalized that it is now an "a priori" concept, at least in Mexico--80% of each daily newspaper is devoted to the topic. It isn't necessary for you to shout, "Land ahoy!" there--millions beat you to the discovery. |

It is impossible to post an coherent agrument for savage capitalism when savage capitalism doesn't exist on a normalized basis, I am assuming your meaning, but maybe I do not.
You choose a very charged word, savage. I find that contempible. I am part Cherokee Indian and I take great offense to the word savage since that same word was used against my people. If you are talking about savage capitalism in a charged manner, I must only point to our Indian casinos as proof to the capitalist spirit of us "savages." I reject your use of the word though....I think it is very dangerous of you to use it.
Show us examples of savage capitalism, please do. If you mean bad capitalism, then say bad capitalism, but know that any word you use to describe it is subjective. Do you know what subjective means? It means that everyone can view it in a different way. Of course, you should already know this, you are a teacher, right? Have you gotten to teaching about objective vs subjective arguments?
I prefer to think about the prudent man rule when thinking if something is bad or not, would a prudent man think it to be true or not? As you commented about coca-cola taking over the planet's waters, I thought it was only fitting to add my take on the privatization of public water systems. I noted to cases where i have personal expereince. I asked for your prudent view on them and you refused to touch them. The facts don't agree with your opinions.
You attack native Americans in your posts, you refuse to listen to reason, and you refuse to back up your posts with facts. Try going somewhere else, Moonie Raymond. |

The sacredness of learning
Krishnamurti
A school is a place of learning and so it is sacred. The temples, churches and mosques are not sacred for they have stopped learning. They believe; they have faith and that denies entirely the great art of learning, whereas a school like those to which this letter is sent, must be entirely devoted to learning, not only about the world around us, but essentially about what we human beings are, why we behave the way we do, and the complexity of thought.
Learning has been the ancient tradition of man, not only from books, but also about the nature and structure of the psychology of a human being. As we have neglected this entirely, there is disorder in the world, terror, violence and all the cruel things that are taking place. We have put the world’s affairs first and not the inner. The inner, if it is not understood, educated and transformed, will always overcome the outer, however well organized it may be politically, economically and socially. This is a truth which many seem to forget. We are trying politically, legally and socially to bring order in the outer world in which we are living, and inwardly we are confused, uncertain, anxious and in conflict. Without inward order, there will always be danger to human life. |
