I like weblogs, and have compiled my list of favorites.

http://www.dannygregory.com/weblog/ A New Yorker who makes art journals. Reading through the archives is inspiring.

http://emmalola.diaryland.com/ Yale phd candidate; Native American; woman who just had a baby; all this wrapped in a wicked sense of humor

http://www.mustardseedfarm.blogspot.com/ A rural woman chronicles her life as a 60+ shepherdess (with pictures)

http://www.livejournal.com/users/pocomoonshine17/ An couple (in their 50's) are building their own house (with pictures)

http://www.geocities.com/shadley000/ A New Jersey programmer packs up his Dominican wife and two kiddos and they start a dairy operation in the Dominican Republic. Hilarious commentary and pictures.

If you have any REALLy good blogs to share, do!!!

Here are some I enjoy reading:

http://muttawa.blogspot.com/

A "muttawa" is a 'religious policeman" in Saudi Arabia. But don't be misled by the name:

"A Saudi man's diary of life in the "Magic Kingdom", where the Religious Police ensure that everything remains as it was in the Middle Ages.'

The guy is very, very intelligent, and has a wonderful, wicked sense of the absurd.

Here are two from Iraq:

Thank you, John, for sharing these blogs. I looked at each one. I found Faiza's heartwrenching. I learned some things, too. The ones I shared were more of the "american dream" variety...the ones you shared are more of the "middle eastern reality" variety.

I'm partial to my husband's blog - http://www.pornetry.com
(He's trying to get as many random hits as possible, thus the 'porn' bit - nothing too naughty though, sorry)

Speaking of blogging, what should turn up on my "My Yahoo" page today but this:

Into the Blogosphere
"This online, edited collection explores discursive, visual, social, and other communicative features of weblogs. Essays analyze and critique situated cases and examples drawn from weblogs and weblog communities. Such a project requires a multidisciplinary approach, and contributions represent perspectives from Rhetoric, Communication, Sociology, Cultural Studies, Linguistics, and Education, among others."
