|
|
Just wondering...
If you enter China on a Z-visa, which means it needs to be converted to a residence permit, what happens, if you don't find the job is what you were told? Or if for whatever reason, you want to leave.
Can you depart China on a Z-visa? If it's less than 30 days since you entered China...
Or do you have to convert it over to a residence permit first? |

If you don't get the residence permit in 30 days through your original employer after having entered China on the Z visa, then you must leave the country by then. You face a fine of 500 RMB a day not exceeding 10,000 RMB if you stay longer. Overstaying might even make it more difficult for you to get another Z visa in the near future. If your original employer has decided not to keep you, then you must find a new employer to take over the RP application with your original employer's cooperation and involvement. So, yes, you can leave the country on the Z visa by the 30 day expiry date pending the RP. You don't need the RP to leave China if you haven't yet got it. The RP is legally required only if you wish to stay the full year or at least longer than 30 days to work for your original employer. It's the employer's responsibility to apply for the RP in 30 days. Your part is simply submitting your passport to get the RP stamp attached to it. The process can take 5-10 business days, but doesn't necessarily have to be completed within the 30 day limit - just started before the expiry date. |

This question seems familiar....
I'm more than a little amazed that you still have not figured out that you can leave under ANY visa. |
