Hi,

Does anyone know anything about this place? I think it's new, so probably not, but no harm in asking!

Thanks!

Have you checked out the website, usually a good place to start, get a few names off the academic teaching staff list and say hi! You never know they might even write back to you esp if they are recruiting!

I see they are advertising at careers.tesol.org for 15 instructors. They provide a link to their home page.

PS

Hi, I sent you a pm, but it then occured to me that you may not have enough posts to reply. I was just wondering about conditions in general. Classes sizes and students - how many in a class, are they motivated?
Management, helpful, approacable, disorganised? Colleagues - good morale, sociable?
And how is living in Antalya in terms of social life?
Any complaints?

Any info at all really!

I just replied to yr message, but in case other people are wondering:

Class size is about 20. Some students are creative and engaged and fun to have in class, some are lazy and disinterested. Motivation is often a problem, but the worst students tend to weed themselves out by failing for attendance halfway through the semester. Other teachers seem to have had more classroom management problems than I have, though.

The management of the ELT program is in good hands, but they're constantly having to react and adapt to the university administration's much less reasonable decisions. This situation will hopeully improve next year, since the ELT program is supposedly moving to a separate off-campus location in the city center.

Colleagues are great. I like all of the other teachers that I work with.

Antalya is an excellent city if you like beaches, mountains, and Turkish food. I do, so I'm happy.
