When I got my Z visa with my new school, about 10months ago, they said that I needed to have 2 years teaching experience before getting a Z visa. This was my second z visa and my first didn't ask for it, but they said it was a new law. Then I ddin't hear any more about it.
There's a new teacher at our school and she was told that she needed to lie because she didn't have two years experience and they said that it was ok, because they did the same when they applied for my visa and got it.
That was new to me! I ddin't know that they did that! when did they pass this new law?

Never heard of this law before. I know that in Beijing, PSB are trying to bring in a rule that teachers coming in from outside China for the first time, must have a recognised teaching qualification. If they don't, the school cannot issue the invitation letter for them to get a 'Z' visa in their home country.

What's a recognised teaching qualification? Does a TEFL cert count?

From the information I've had so far, and from the recent dealings with PSB, it would appear that TEFL/TESL/TESOL/CELTA would all be acceptable - but hey, this is China, and this is Beijing - tomorrow it could all be different.
