I've essentially been told that I'll get a release letter and will have my residence permit transferred to my new job if I do XYZ. I'm leaving a job early for a different job and gave my employer proper notice. However, company drones are all telling me that they will cancel my residence permit unless I do XYZ (things that they benefit from) because it's soooooo expensive to sponsor a candidate for a visa blah blah blah, and that transferring my residence permit "shouldn't be an option" - implying that I should be thankful that they're even willing to consider it.
Is this illegal? Are employers required to provide the release letter once the employment relationship ends? I asked them directly and they conveniently didn't answer the question, so now I'm on Daves trying to get more reliable information I think I know the answer to this question and I get the feeling they're giving me a line of BS. Can't help to ask around. Most people seem to be of the consensus that providing a release letter to someone who has another job is the law.
Anyone with first hand knowledge? Thanks in advance! |
