| If they wanna test you for "Buddha" in da' system the authorities will simply walk into a bar and require a lock of your hair and do a field test.. if positive they now have the right to take you down for questioning and to call and investigate anyone stored in your cell...time to teach English in Colorado.... |

speaking of medical check, I may have to return back to the US to complete the 'z' visa process all over again as my current RP is about to expire and don't have an employer yet. Once I do get hired on to another school, can I take my medical exam here in China and get all the chops and stamps and be accepted by the Chinese consulate back home? It's much cheaper to get it done here.
Cheers,

That's a hilarious response. You've never heard of it? Well, you were tested as well.
It's the national requirement that all foreigners, as part of their medical exam are tested for cocaine, heroine, and marijuana. The tests are specific for those and are also sensitive to other narcotics that have been consumed in very high doses. |
This is 100% false. Three things I can point to:
1) I've smoked pot every summer I've been home and have never had an issue passing the physical.
2) If you look at the results from the blood test there is most definitely not a section on drug levels.
3) I'm an admin at my school and this year they wanted me to learn every step of how to convert a Z-visa to a residence permit, including all the forms, medical reports, etc. etc. that go along with that and there was most definitely not a drug test included in the package that we handed the PSB. |

Drug testing may be done on a hunch. There are enough stories about people being booted out of the country because of a positive test, but from what I've read about drug testing, a fast test not cheap to do.
A test for alcohol is fast and easy. A test for sugar is fast and easy. A test for albumin is fast and easy. Drug tests are expensive. Fast ones are mucho expensive, and the others take a long time.
The practicality of it low, so I can't see the powers that be even considering it.
I can't imagine where anyone would even get more of anything outside of the cr@p they mess with in the clubs. And if you get caught... just wait for one of those buses. |
