However, keep in mind diabetes is common and doesn't carry the stigma that mental health disorders do. Also, stating there's a "history" of bipolar disorder without indication of there ever being any treatment could be a red flag. This one issue has the potential to hold up your visa approval process if closely scrutinized.

Yes I understand that. I had thought about writing a letter myself, to accompany the report, but was advised that might be drawing undue attention to the issue and might work against me rather than for me. I'm not sure my GP would write a letter speaking to treatment, since she didn't handle that side of things, and isn't a psychiatrist. The most she might do is write that there's no clinical indication, but that's just a restatement of what the report already says.
