Can anyone tell me if a final exit visa (original copy) will be accepted by the embassy for a new work visa application. My company refused to issue me a LOC or LONO (they are not a legal requirement under new Saudi labour law) when I left last year. However old habits die hard.

Many employers are still requiring these as there doesn't seem to be a law against them doing so, although technically the embassy should not require one. However, there is a lot of inconsistency from one embassy to another and even from one day to another at the same embassy.

If the water didn't get too muddy, maybe there's been some change so that your old employer could now be convinced to write one for you.

Thanks rolling. I have to go back to the UK to get the visa issued. Before I go I'll talk to the visa agent before travelling. They should know, one hopes. I just don't want to get to London and find the embassy say 'no' to the final exit visa.

Yeah, I know. I'm not an optimist either. However, somebody did mention in another post that they succeeded to get another work visa issued with a re-issued copy of their final work visa (which was lost) and a reference from their previous employer. I was hoping that maybe this would be a possible key opener.

Get a new passport? Would they notice you've been there before if there was no stamp?

I've thought of that as well. Yes, the old washing the p$*ort trick. But...
If anybody has recent experience of doing this in the UK, please feel free to comment on your sad or happy experience. I'd love to hear from you.
