Just wondering: When is uni hiring season -is it over now? Do uni's continue to hire during the summer if they haven't already recruited enough staff? In fact, are they open during the summer? Do teachers work in the summer months and if not, are they paid?
Thanks! |

They start hiring as soon as they know how many students they'll have for the coming year and they continue until they have the number of teachers they need. This can start as early as Feb/Mar and can continue up through Aug/Sep. School generally starts around Sept. 23 and goes through mid-June and many have a month summer school following that. If you get a 12 month contract, you will get paid through the summer. You may get 4-6 weeks of free time away from school, although possibly not consecutive and not "official," during July and/or August and it would be paid. |
