Hi All
I recently received an offer as I direct hire from PSU for the following which I thought was much better than all the contractor offers I had been getting. Can anyone give any feedback?
A monthly salary of 13.5k (incl transportation allowance of 600)
Housing provided
60 days vacations
flights+insurance+bonus but NO visa fee refunded
My qualifications: Unrelated BA +CELTA (6 years teaching experience all pre-CELTA)
Is it generally much better to go with a direct hire rather than getting mucked around by contractors? Any info on working for PSU as there doesn't seem to be much floating around here?
Any input much appreciated |

As long as you are 100% sure that it is a direct hire position, you should take the job at PSU. I don't know about the everyday stuff, but you might not find that offer elsewhere and if you do, it may not be a direct hire position. I would even take a little less money to sign with a place that would hire me directly. |

You seemed to have answered your own question. Considering your qualifications, that salary is about right especially since they credited your pre-CELTA experience. Anyway, there's not much about PSU within this forum, which is likely a good sign. |

With a BA + CELTA, that's not a bad salary at all. Considering it's a direct hire and in Riyadh it's a good job. I haven't heard too many negative things about PSU. |

they credited your BA, not your CELTA nor your experience, so don't kid yourself. i got the same offer from PSU and turned it down for more money, more hols, and more bennies. i have an unrelated BA, 5 years pre-delta and 1 post delta.
if it is what you are looking for and enough money for you to live in ksa, take it. |
