Due to the fact that the US Army is pulling out 12,000 troops from Korea starting next month and the lag in cars in Korea, I was one of the 15 carsalesmen that were given their "walking orders" and was looking for a job.

After 2 weeks and about 50 email offers, I finally got a public middle school job that seems generous, especially in terms of "celery" (bringing back old jest).

So I am applying for my pension and I guess I'll be over there in about 5 weeks or so.

Wish me luck~ see y'all in the pubs!!!!

Yes, I distinctly remember advising you against the "car salesmen" scheme when you first mentioned it.

I assume you are coming to China? Why are you going to work in a middle school? Do you enjoy torture?

From selling cars to teaching children - good luck! I daresay you'll need it now more than ever.

The job seemed stable at the time and I thought it would be a great way to get away from the teaching scene.
But, like any job with the DoD, it is subject to politics.
And I am thinking that chinese students MIGHT be alittle bit more well-behaved compared to their korean counterparts.
I've done some part time jobs where I taught elementary and middle school students, so I am familiar to how rowdy children can get.
Besides, its only 8 months a year with 4 months vacation w/"full" pay, I can't get that in Korea Very Happy

As~~~sA!!

Why don't we start a "Korean ESL" support group to help rehabilitate all the helpless victims of the Korean ESL industry who were lucky enough to get away from the "Land of the Morning Puke".
All we need is a pub, a 15-seat table and alot of cheap beer and snacks. The last one standing will be Chairman Smile

See all of you (hopefully) in about 4 and half weeks!!!
