Regarding doing a BA degree, Staffordshire Uni offers accelerated degrees of two years in length, with tuition fees at £9,000 a year, or £10,000 if they class you as an international student. You'd have to take out a small loan to cover the difference. English Literature is the most relevant course they offer. If you have family living in Midlands who could put you up it might be worthwhile.
If you fancy working in Thailand I notice that Thongsook College offers a very cheap BA in TESOL, which you'd complete alongside a teaching job. On its own it probably wouldn't mean much outside Thailand, but perhaps if you were planning to do an MA at a British university afterwards, you'd find a university that was quite happy to take your money. After all, plenty of international students from the Far East are accepted on MA courses with foreign undergraduate degrees. |

If you fancy working IN Thailand you should also be aware that the BA.TESOL on offer at Thongsook College is also NOT recognized toward teacher licensure IN THAILAND.
It is NOT listed on the College website. It is offered by a TEFL course provider in rented rooms on the holiday breaks and requires you to work illegally on an EDU visa (with "not legal to work stamped on the face of it) during your studies.
It is NOT peer reviewed or accredited by anybody.
Caveat Emptor - buyer beware.
