I was supposed to leave last week Im still stuck here because of HR. They still havent completed the paper work for my passport. (I got a new one) They told me to do this. IS THIS what you all did or are doing to get out of here?? HELP!

Baa baa, have you emailed their recruitment department to ask which outside agency they use? Their email address is at the bottom of the jobs page on the university's website. |

There was a time when the Saudi British Centre recruited for the ELC. However, I suspect that's no longer the case---that all ELC teaching positions are now direct hire. But your friend might still contact SBC. |

Based on their job posting, they don't hire anyone with less than a relevant MA and (ideally) 3 years' post-degree experience. Given those requirements, it's unlikely they'd accept teachers via a contracting company who don't have strong qualifications. |

Your employer/kafeel is LEGALLY responsible for you while you are in the Kingdom. Remind them of that and ask for their help in getting the paperwork to get an exit visa.
Those thinking of coming to KSA might note that choice of the wrong master can lead to true misery. Be Careful.

Hi thanks for your replies
The HR is doing everything that needs to be done regarding old passport and new. Thats what I am waiting for.
They told me in the meantime go to that website and try to get your exit reentry.
Im working at KAU- anybody there who is going through the same thing. Until today they did the exit reentry themselves. They said that this is a new law.
ROSTOM- when i reached the last step it said to bring the iqama to a station for verification and then the account would be active
So from this you think theres something wrong with my iqama.. So I cant leave tomorrow either right?????
Do you think maybe because my passport is going through some procedure thats why my iqama was not verified.
THis is really bad news at this time...Im all packed ready to go. :.....( |

One of the options is Saudi Airlines passport-- that would be the place where they sell plane tickets right? If it is then its so close? I can do that but then again they dont close at two.. so its not them right?? |

Your Iqama is linked to your passport number, make sure that your new passport number has been linked/transferred to your Iqama. If not, you might face another problem in the Airport if your exit-visa is not linked to the new passport number but to the old one?
I suggest you look for a Saudi or an Egyptian/Syrian colleague/friend in your department who might help you in the process.
Good luck. |
