Hey all, I posted this in the Latin America forum but got no response, so I'm posting it here.

I'm going to be looking for work after christmas, and I'll have a BA in economics, and a TEFL certificate, but no experience. Is it possible to find work in Latin America? My other question is, will I be able to break even? I've read in some countries where you have to support yourself with some of your own money, and I'd rather not do that, although paying for a plane ticket and settling in for a month or two wouldn't be too bad. I just don't want to come home in debt or worse, not be able to afford a ticket back.

Anyway, my reasons for going are I want to learn Spanish, experience Latin American culture, see some of the world, and get out of Dartmouth (any Dartmouth folk here?). Do I stand a chance?

You will be able to find a job, especially since many places start around Feb or March. And you can break even if you live frugally. Get private students, they pay better.
Good luck!

Hey no worries, in a pinch you can always walk back to Nova Scotia.
