Hello

I was just curious to know how many weeks / months do most teachers get in saudi.

I'm a direct hire at a post secondary institute in KSA.
Our annual summer leave is 30 days, and the regular eid breaks.

Is this common for teachers here? Isn't 60 days summer break supposed to be the norm?

30 days is the norm...60 if you are fortunate.

Direct-hire university contracts generally provide 60 days. But perhaps vocational/technical schools don't, based on your experience.

totally depends who you work for. We continue without a break through the summer with teachers getting two weeks every 4 months (i.e. 42 days paid leave a year) depending on when their first day of contract is.

Your response is vague because it doesn't include context. That is, you don't specify what type of teaching situation you're in. For example, the OP teaches as a direct hire for a vocational school.

Vacation! Hurray!! Hurrah!!! I'm now sitting in Bahrain waiting for a flight to Amsterdam. I get 8 weeks, but I negotiated that on a new salary contract, my argument being why sit in a steaming desert office when there are no courses? Normally, universities and state colleges will more than likely give you a couple of months in summer while privately owned 'insitutions' seem to offer a measly 30 day leave period per year, which frankly is nowhere near enough to retain your sanity.

Now, where's that plane?
