What problems ? Are you a Qadiani or something ?

No, scot47. I think I have to work on my knowledge of KSA culture more and more. I am reading at this stage and learning a lot and honestly I'll consider my decision again if it is too much for me to work there.
So far no swing but it is looming on the horizon !

It seems that poor old Alan is fit to work in Saudi.
I would like to keep this up in case anyone with Diabetes (type2) knows that he/ she can get a job in KSA.
It was so easy! I done my own blood tests but have been asked to contact a Travel agency that liaise with the Saudi embassy for the visa process. Had to repeat the medical again ( paid extra money as well!) and seen a doctor who told me that me sugar levels are ( on boarder line!). Told her about my condition and she only asked for a written letter from my J.P. Waited for a week to be done as I live South of London.
Received my work visa and the tickets in two weeks time after the medical in London.
So for future references ( If you have Diabetes type two ) you can work in Saudi and actually the doctor at the private clinic asked me if I used or use any medication to put in on the form and ensure that I take it with me when I leave UK.
Thanks everyone and See you Soon.

I believe that you're speaking of the Kentucky-Tennessee boarder, no?

They will not refuse a visa to diabetics. Some employers will not hire diabetics. I had to conceal my medical condition from Saudi Arabian Airlines where I worked from 1996-2002. Their policy was not to hire foreigners with diabetes and to terminate those who acquired the condition !

Subsequent employers were more understanding. Thank you KFUPM !

If they applied this to nationals then the whole 'isation' policies of the ME would crumble overnight!

Quite true. The incidence of Arabs acquiring diabetes has multiplied manifold over the last few decades. Of course we know that rules applied to expatriates wouldn't necessarily be the same ones for the nationals, but if so, then there would be many Saudis that wouldn't qualify for employment due to having a diabetic condition.
