My friend has applied through TLTP and been offered a position at King Saud University.

The contract is with Al Jazeera International Academy in Riyadh.

Apparently they have been around for more than a few years and they have various projects in the Kingdom based in Medina, Al Baha and Abha.

They provide accomodation and transport there is no option for an allowance.

The job offer states he will be working for 48 hours per week with 30 teaching hours. working hours as 7.30am to 4.30pm Sun - Thurs.

Salary is basic SR 12,000

Has anyone heard of Al Jazeera? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Low pay, long hours.

If your friend has University acceptable qualifications, he should look elsewhere.

Why the long teaching hours.

All the teachers I know only teach 4 hours a day.

I think Al Jazeera have other contracts at language centres and maybe the long hours are there.

I believe if the position is at King Saud University then it will be University hours which is teaching 4 hours a day.

You might be right. Do you know where the accommodation is and if it's any good?

Hi. 12000 is so little for 48 hrs of work.

I'm at KAU we teach 18 hrs a week plus 5 hrs of office hrs A WEEK.

Salaries are the same. Plus 17 000 for housing 500 for transportation. There's no stress. You even have an option to be in committees and teach for 8 hrs.

3 days a week I get out at 10:50. Don't take that job!

30 hours class contact is far too much. Unreasonable. Norm is 15 to 20

Is that figure for every six months?

17000 per yr. It's not enough. But after seeing the offer above I'm very happy now.

No. I had to furnish it. I got 8000 for furniture. You get that once.

Edit: I looked at furnished ones. They are 3000-5000 more and are really gross.

Edit: these prices go for Suleymaniah and naseem. Aljama can be less but I can't imagine how bad the apartments are.

Salaries are the same.

Not quite. Salaries for direct hires at government universities like KAU are calculated based on the individual's education level, years of relevant experience, nationality, and written verification of previous employment. Therefore, no two salaries may be alike.

On the job board of this site and teachsaudi you can see job offers that go up to 20 000 plus everything. I think they go up to 24 000 infact. That's why 48 hrs is way too much.

I understand what you mean Nomadsoul but he should look elsewhere before finalizing his decision. It's just too much work for 12 000.

I think CBA is Sth like that 12000 for 48 hrs of work. My friend is miserable and to top it she gets paid every 50 days.

Anybody know PNU? Is it the same working hrs?????? And what book do they teach. Come on you guys my friend has an interview any help would be great.
