Dear baa baa,
Let me get this clear - are you asking where IN Saudi you can get an employment letter and reference letter attested?
If so, not sure if this will help:

Please accept my sincere apologies for my reply. I really thought you were trying to cause trouble.

so, are you saying that the new law says that "once an expat is hired, he would not be fired unless he decided to leave?"
So, what would be the consequences/penalty for him if he quit?
any ban on working for another employer in future after he left? and how many years of the ban would that be to enter KSA again?
70% of the Ts may not want to go back to KSA as they have other options, or family affair to take care of.
A male colleague of mine is still in KSA, unable to leave as he is sponsor refused to give him final visa but they fired him.
He was happy to be fired as he had other jobs lined up but they started to accuse him of being absent from work and reported him to MOI as " Absconding".
he was told "the last day of his work, and made to stay at the hotel while they were sorting out the final payment and final visa".
Then, the employer reported him to MOL who cancelled the Absconding and ordered the sponsor to get him back on the job ( that's was Saudi to Saudi advice like " let him quit").
The point he has been making is " he was fired by the employer , and he accepted and he didn't care whatever reason the employer may state, and was happy to leave when they fired him".
Are Saudi labor laws getting tough for the employers also?
These days, everything is done on line and MOI/MOL can see how many expats a Saudi sponsor has been firing/ expats leaving the job by giving final visa and is there a penalty for sponsors?
So, it is another " Hotel California".
Another female colleague cried hysterically as Billy ( that's her cat) died in Connecticut,. She managed to take an emergency leave, half sobbing, and then never returned. |

?????
Why did my question cause so much commotion???
I'm worried that my references wouldn't be accepted back home that's why I would have to attest them.
THEN I got worried about getting fired and not having time to attest them.
Btw I did Sth stupid and turned in my references. They are not copies.
Not planning to quit now. It's too soon.
Scot you are right about headaches but it's a bigger headache once yiu leave the country. It's difficult to come back.
I will ask the embassy. I think that's the best solution. Each of you keep on giving different answers. |

Or maybe from your responses I can understand that Attestation is not required. 😁 |

Dear baa_baa,
I've never had reference letters, employment letters attested. On my resume/CV, it states, "reference letters available upon request," and all the contact info, should anyone wish to verify the validity of that reference is available on the letter.
So, if anyone wants to check, all they need do is make a phone call or send an e-mail.
Regards,
John

That's great. So no need to do that.
Thank you John.

ok so I must try to BE more obedient, keep my mouth shut, and follow dress code.

Always be cooperative and make sure they like you. Dress is the most important thing in Asia, at least Thailand or the KSA. |
