What if your employer is in the red or yellow category? Can you transfer to another company internally without their permission?

"Expatriates in these companies are, however, allowed to transfer sponsorship to other establishments in higher zones."

Where logic and common sense are commonplace I'd say the above means that a transfer from companies in or near red zones can happen without the sponsor's permission. However, let's not read all that into this statement.

I suspect those same conditions for iqama transfer apply---that the terms of the contract need to be completed in full.

Tvik- it may be a good idea to avoid this institution simply on the grounds that it is only entering its second year and it is being run by a company which has only been operating in Saudi Arabia for just as long.

I have written extensively about the Buraydah CoE elsewhere on this forum. Please search for those threads.

Canadians say "school" too for many educational buildings and even a few backyards. Thanks Cheese for the posts... actually I don't mind the new colleges and see them as a challenge. I usually get on with the students and find that respect and politeness is often what Saudi managers look for in the relationship.

If you've read those other posts then you know how I feel. I would say that the management will definitely not leave you alone; our bosses were known to enter classrooms and random and berate both teacher and student for the untidiness of the classroom (what does a tidy classroom look like and why does it matter?) as well as for students sleeping, or the students drinking water, or going to the bathroom which for some reason even at the age of 21 or 22 they are not permitted to do during class.

It came to be known alternatively as the Chaos of Excellence or the College of Excrement.
