Your English version of your contract is absolutely worthless. 100%. The ONLY version that matters is the Arabic version. Keep that in mind, too.

I have heard students say "f*** you infidel I don't need English."

I know of one man who was driving and was hit by a Saudi. The Saudi got out of his car with his tire iron and was going to beat the crap out of the innocent party. Fortunately, the guy who was hit knew enough Arabic to say "I am converting, please do not kill me." The guy with the tire iron calmed down. I have been hit 3 times.

I have driven at night and was approached from behind by a black car with no headlights.

In public high schools, it is VERY common or students to throw water bottles (empty), or shoes, at the teacher purely for entertainment.

One teacher has a kayak. He has been ordered out of the water, at gunpoint. I could continue, but I am tired and ready to lie down. That is about the only thing there is to when you are not working.

Where was this again? Detroit? Razz

There would be a few differences. In Detroit they don't drive cars like they're riding camels, and you can call the police when their is trouble. They also have video cameras in some places to assist with catching violent idiots. On further thought though I have to concede that universities in the U.S. are a lot more dangerous than in Saudi Arabia. The student who said F U Infidel was just an ignorant idiot. Maybe he was having a bad day; Parents wouldn't buy him a Porsche.

Is HavCrick still in KSA ? I would suggest that he should consider moving on.

Personally I spent 17 years in KSA. I had a few "incidents" but generally speaking I managed okay. If you approach the Saudis in a hostile manner and try to play the role of "superior race" you will lose. If you approach people with an open mind, life is a lot easier. In KSA or anywhere else. Maybe even in Ferguson, Missouri.

PMU is not the easiest place to work in and is very much an institution catering for sons (and daughters) of the rich.

I agree with totally with Scot 47 - Saudi Arabia is no better or worse than any other place to live and work (in some ways much better - almost no crime). I have worked in several Universities in Saudi and in other countries on other continents.

I don't believe I've ever heard such a rant about an individual on this forum.

PG, you have done more for H's argument than against.
