Yeah, you probably got it right, Nights. Perhaps some of his interest and feelings on the issue have more to do with wishing that kind of lifestyle were easily attainable for us in Japan. If that kind of salary were offered here, you could imagine the kind of talent that would potentially attract.

Depending on one's profession, moving to Japan does seem to require a bit of an earnings shave, at least at first. I guess the trade off is worth it for some (I know it was for me), but it could be hard to stomach for others.

sorry there are too many questions to answer. first of all questioning me about my phd is futile. I could google answers or ask colleauges. You can either believe me or not. Yes I was ABD in korea writing it up and that is why I chose Korea to work due to the fact I could do absolutely nothing all day had vlong vacations so could baaically be making good money while writing up. I have also said time and time again 15 ml is mu total income including my internet business which is basically a essay mill and my rent income. I have also included health insurance and perks to give people an idea.
If you are trying to tell me no one has moved from asia to the us is talking crap I was hired specifically for that reason as I am sure you are aware there are a number of immigrants in the US.
The reason I bought a Porsche Cayenne GTS is due to the salesmans advice that it is a safe car and one can drive onself out of trouble in many occasions. I find most SUVs have too much body roll and frankly speaking big American SUVs are for the nouveaux riche.

mateacher,

I believe that everything you have outlined above is absolutely possible. Indeed, that is exactly what many smart people are doing over in Korea and Japan, especially university instructors with very long summer and winter vacations.

Whether you actually did do that, however, only you know.

Wait, so first when questioned, you said that you were making 15M as a professor. Now you mention your own internet company, and rentals? On top of that, you mention that you are fluent in 5 languages? Seriously man, you are a compulsive liar. I am done here people, and I think we should all ignore Mr. Amway from now on.

I dont want to reveal my whole life online but to give some credibility to what I say it seems I have to. I said my income is 15 million yen I guess I wasnt being totally honest iin that a small part of that income is not from my vocation but also from other spurces.
Of course for somebody like you all this indeed my whole lifestyle is something from a fairy tale. I guess if you hang out at the hub every night gorging your face with nissin cub noodles eating at kfc and maccy ds you probably have never met someone like me who can speak korean japanese english and the two previous languages.
Better get back to class the JTE is asking you if you could sing a song.

Not that my opinion matters much, but I think he's talking about real experiences, here. A bit of social awkwardness fits the bill, too, suggesting that the experiences are his.

My wife does care about hensachi. She was just surprised that I was suddenly interested. I will be on the lookout to make sure my next school's rank isn't so low that it's in danger of closing from that. It seems that poor investments may be of even greater concern for some of these schools, though. I know one of Nanzan's campuses will shut down do to this very reason.

I'm not so sure fluency in five languages is easily achieved by the rest of us, but would you say that Spanish and French are your strongest languages, outside of English, mateacher?

For those who doubt your story, perhaps a small demonstration in each of these would suffice for some. I can handle Spanish, if someone else can take French. You are obviously under no obligation to prove yourself, mateacher. This wouldn't compromise your anonymity, though.
