This blows me away? I mean this is a Chinese government website right? Do you think this blacklist is for real or the work of some hacker? Also is this only the first page and if so, where can we get the rest of it?

Well after the Google translation, it appears that these people are banned for three years.

"Please Bureau of Foreign Experts around strictly from now on, shall not be approved within three years of above nine illegal workers to the identity of foreign experts working in China."

So this would give weight to the idea that the most common "heavy" ban is three years. Got something out of it.

Does it say what they did or who they worked for. I am traveling now and have no bi-lingual Chinese around me to translate. Thanks.

Good I hope it's real. Anyone who breaks the law is part of my axis of evil and should be outed.

I can't speak Chinese, I just used Google translate, as part of the Chrome browser extension. It says both, actually. Considering the number of teachers booted out of China annually, these nine must have really ticked them off.

What makes you think and assume they broke the law? This whole thing could be fake or maybe they are whistle blowers a.k.a. "Trouble makers"

Do you know these people? Does anyone know these people? What if they don't even exist and someone wanted to "send a message" to expat teachers to "tow the line" so to speak?

Oh dear god, again?!

And, if you believe you are some supposed list you clearly are undesirable for many reasons and shouldn't even be here to begin with.

Are you in denial or fail to look at this link?

http://www.safea.gov.cn/content.shtml?id=12746016

It is posted on the real SAFEA web site. This is no illusion. My only question now is if these people are real or is this a veiled message?

Don't be a smart ass. I only see my FIL on Sundays and I will surely ask him to check this out. In the meantime, do you think it is real and do you know any of the people on the list and how could only be so few people on such a list?

Something is amiss. Can a person really be named Harlequin Takahashi, Slaughter Dexter Carl or Dirk Holderied? And there are only nine!? In all of China only nine foreigners have been blacklisted? I would think dozens a month...

I tried a google search and it only goes back to Chinese government blacklists and here last March when they had a similar chat about this very same 'new' blacklist: http://forums.eslcafe.com/job/viewtopic.php?t=101178.

Harlequin Takahashi!? It sounds like a Chinese bureaucrat's (who isn't very knowledgeable about non-Chinese names) take on a non-Chinese name. Kind of like 'Ford Prefect'.
