Hi everyone, so I have recently been teaching in Oaxaca, Mexico and decided I want to continue my career as an international teacher. I've been doing a lot of research about the best place for me to go next, and I've decided on either Istanbul or Izmir.

I have three years teaching experience, my credentials in English and history, and my master's degree in education (from UCLA). Researching some schools, I have seen that many require a B.A. in the subject being taught (in my case, English). I have my B.A. in Screenwriting with a minor in Communication Studies; but no English.

Is this something that is strictly enforced? I am worried about this hurting my chances when I start applying to schools in the next few months.....any advice on good schools I could apply to that don't have this requirement?

I suggest you register and post on International Schools Review's forum since it deals more with teaching content and not just ESOL.
