It's been a long time since I was in Saudi. Does Skype work there? |

Skype does work, but I hear a lot of people complaining about quality.
Tango from what I have heard seems to be the app that has good quality, though I have not tried it.
Apple Facetime is simply amazing both picture quality and sound - but both parties need an Iphone, Ipad or Ipod touch. |

Skype definitely works. But it depends on your location and service provider, too.
I was with Mobily at first (In Riyadh) and it was okay.. could make out what people were saying but it kept freezing a lot). When that contract finished we switched to STC. And there's a huuuuge difference in quality. My parents say that most the time it's so clear that they feel like they are sitting with me. I go on skype almost daily, if not about 4 times a week. When the connection is bad, I simply turn the connection off and on again from the mains, ta-da, bob's your uncle.
But it will depend on location, like I said. Some parts of Riyadh have better connection with Mobily and other companies, so it will wary. But I'm happier with STC and I'm sticking to it.
I was advised to use Tango.. I installed it but hated it. |
