Greetings. I recently got an interview set up with G.Taste, with one of their Nova branches. Now, I've heard plenty about NOVA, and plenty of it bad, so I'm familiar with the 'dangers' associated with such an opportunity. What I haven't seen, though, are reviews about G.Taste, which, I believe, is a subsidiary of the G Corporation. They've been around for a while and yet I've seen next to little about them, save an article on Tofugu stating that they're a new company unsure of what they're doing...back in 2009. As we approach the new year, we are ever aware that this is well past 2009. Anyone worked for G.Taste or have any insight into them? The pay is fairly decent compared to other things I've seen, but I'm hoping G.Taste isn't hiding a big stick behind their back while they wave the carrot in my face. I've heard some horror stories about the eikaiwa business, but I am genuinely interested in teaching and living in Japan, so depending on how these people are I'm willing to forego some of the niceties we get here in the States |

Hi UncommonCourtesy,
My recent post here in the Nova thread is actually about a G-Taste branch. Overall I'd say they're not bad but not great. Two years was enough for me, but others had been there for over a decade. |

Sorry to bump this topic, but I'm in the same scenario as the OP: looking for advice regarding G.taste Nova branch in Tochigi (preferably current), as the OP mentioned there are posts dating back 5 years about NOVA specifically, but less so on G.taste.
I also read Miura's post about her experience for the record, so I'm unsure what the current state of affairs is like in the 12 months since her post.
Thanks in advance! |
