How long after you receive the letter do you have to transfer to another job? |

It doesn't work like that. Usually teachers have another job lined up with an offer before they resign or their contract expires. It doesn't matter when they give you the release letter, but when you were terminated. For the sake of your visa validity you need to find employment ASAP - just in case your last employers sends notice to the PSB to cancel/revoke your invitation letter/visa. This is generally a 15-30 day process for the PSB to cancel your visa. But play it safe and assume you 15 day window to find a new employer to issue you a new invitation letter and off to Hong Kong you go! Good luck. |

I have been in China 7 years, and have changed schools several times, and I have only been to Hong Kong once.
If you finish your contract, and you take your release letter to your new school, you most likely do not need to leave China.
Invitation letter to change schools ??
Off to Hong Kong ??
Cancel visa ?? Your residency permit, not your visa, is what gets cancelled or changed to your new school.
If you are legal, after thirty days in China you should be here with a residency permit , not a visa. |

15 years and not one trip to HK.
1 invite letter many years (15) ago and I came on a tourist visa anyway and converted.
All my release letters had to correspond with my release date. |
