Ok so I've tried the search feature to no avail and i'm googling as well, but since we know that this is a very transient lifestyle I'm wondering if the more experienced travelers will have better ideas...
So I'm in the US, we're moving to Hong Kong what do I do for banking? Right now we have a business and personal Wells Fargo account. When we move I'll still need to pay for some things in the US and actually still receive money in the US. Of course my job in Hong Kong will also need to pay me, so what are my options?
I had thought HSBC as that's who I used in 2005/2006 when I lived in France, but evidently you can't have just one account to use around the world wherever I go like it used to be... so what are the best options? I'd like to get it set up now so I can redirect some money that we'll be getting paid after we leave if possible.
thanks |

Last I was in HK there was a Bank of America there. Might be worth looking into them before you leave the States. Ours had an option for USD and an option for HKD, but the two couldn't be mingled.
My school wires some of my pay to my bank account back home and deposits some of it in a local account. (Make sure you know your banks routing number and / or SWIFT code (is this the right term?), if you're going to transfer money.
Most of our bills at "home" are set up on auto-payments from home accounts, so life continues there even though we're here... Some bills are able to be paid via credit card, and I have a trusted person with a stack of blank checks for those that can't. |

They're actually pulling a fast one, we believe. The teachers think that they're really not paying any tax on the wages paid into our foreign accounts... |
