I got put in jail for walking in the middle of the night by a person who was holding a rifle. (I think I trespassed by mistake) And the cop threatened to kill me while dragging me to jail. |
If you are a woman in Saudi Arabia, couldn't you be arrested just for walking alone at night, even without trespassing? |
The OP is male; however, I can answer that as a single female who lived in KSA. The scenario of getting arrested generally doesn't happen since both Saudi and expat women tend to not be out late in public by themselves. And frankly, KSA is not pedestrian friendly at all. There aren't many walkways in the main areas of some of the major cities, and even they're not all particularly safe for walking---day or night. Picture wide roads bordered by dusty fields or cement walls. As such, everyone uses private cars or taxis, which are everywhere.
Anyway, the OP doesn't yet have the qualifications to teach in KSA anytime soon. |
