Happy New Year!

The firecrackers are a-bangin' here in the Northern Capital of the Chinese Universe--jolly 'ole Beijing.

Warm regards,

What!? It's been non-stop all day here in Jiayuguan. Nightfall is bound to add to the hilarity. What's your address? I'm coming to stay over a few days. Meet me at the train station. And yes, I'm bringing my dog.

Oh!

I also often visited the Chairman on Tianfu Square...as well as the statue of him near the East Gate of Sichuan University.

I learned from my wife that the place we live in does not allow fireworks inside the community, and it seems they actually enforce it Shocked

Some random once, but far enough out of my place that it is not very loud. You may wonder why I am up at 1AM if it is so peaceful, I am wondering the same.

No fireworks for Spring Festival!? That's downright Un-American, in a local kind of way.
