Hey guys.

I am a recent college graduate. I spent the last couple of months looking for jobs in China. I found out some information that may be of some use to newbies. The following is how to get a job in Shanghai or Beijing with no experience.

Shanghai
Shanghai recently changed its rules. If you have a 120 hour TEFL certificate, then the 2 year experience can be waived. However, it has to be taken in-class. Be advised, that some employers would still prefer those with experience. I was able to interview with both Wall Street English and Longman's.

Beijing
There is a China TEFL course in Beijing. Once you complete the course you can have the 2 year experience waived. The majority of employers will pay for this course. Go ahead and apply to jobs in Beijing. There is a chance that the employer will hire you and make you take the course.

"Cities , Beijing / changsha / shanghai/ Nanjing / Nanchang /Hefei / Kunming/ Taiyuan
Haikou / Baoding / Anshan/ Shenyang / Chongqing / Hohhot / Dalian / Xian ect"

My guess is that newbies will be sent to the less desirable cities such as Hefei.

"2-12 yrs old students .....
35hrs weekly including office hours .....
7000-10000RMBafter tax
.....
6000rmb airfare bonus
.......
15days free hostel upon your arrival "

All are conditions that would cause me to never want the job. I doubt that anyone is paid more than the minimum 7000 stated.

I wouldn't touch it with a barge pole either, but the OP asked, and I answered.
