I can't seem to find the list of what you can/cannot bring into Japan since I do get headaches randomly, usually from sever weather changes ( I know I'm weird)

So that's why that NHK guy showed up at my door a few weeks ago with a form to fill out and asked if I had a TV. I looked over the form and realized I didn't want to be bothered with a fee for something I rarely used. I told him to come back on another day because I was busy at that moment. I pretended I wasn't here when he came back and he's never been back. ^^

well, besides the point, I remember checking out youtube and people showed their aeon apartments and gaming on the tiny TVs wouldn't be much gaming. I could just buy a nicer laptop if I needed that gaming fix.
From what people tell me, I should bring good pit stick, some decent clothes tha fit and SHOES (im chubby wiuth wide feet so yeah deff those)
also I plan to unlock my samsung galaxy s5 active to use in Japan so I don't have to buy a new phone, anyone know if a smart phone is going to be super expensive?
Well, I'm overweight and stuff, and have found clothes here. Shirts and skirts. Pants however...I wouldn't even dare try wearing them. I'm also tall, so even if I was a pefect size, I doubt I'd be able to find pants easily.

As for shoes, maybe you can find them, maybe not. Just depend on the size. The shoes are wide here, I've noticed, though. Not wide enough for me (women's shoes), but men shoes are pretty wide.

Do you have any international food markets near you? I've found decent maple syrup in those shops, mostly Canadian, though.

Yes, we have a Kaldi in my town. Pricey, though. I went back to New England last year and brought back a jug. Wife was happy.

That's because the Japanese think pain is honorable and right.

Just ask my dentist. Crying or Very sad

Really? My dentist always used lots of happy juice when I got my wisdom teeth pulled. He used local not general so I was awake and aware of tugging in my mouth.

I have heard stories from Japanese living overseas who complained that the dentist used general instead of local. My Japanese friends told me anethesia was "dangerous" and "unnatural". Yes, but I like it.

Some people make really uninformed statements. You do not need to bring painkillers to Japan, they can be found everywhere here.

I second Nights' comment. Depending on where you buy them, they can be more expensive for less quantity, though. If you are attached to a specific brand, it may be harder to find in a local shop, too. Also, if you go through painkillers like sweets, you may want to bring a package along.

Kinda. But if you have the flu, or get an injury, bringing $5 of ibuprofen beats spending 800yen on 1000mg of it later.

now, I'll be working with AEON so IDK how long I will be with them compared to how my year with them goes. I am thinking that I may not need to pack a lot besides stuff previously listed. a part of me feels like i will end up over packing and thinking "why did I bring all this stuff??"

oh and cell phone...so I have an AT&T galaxy s5 active. the super waterproof and shock resistant phone and I want to bring it with me to Japan as it is a GSM phone that I can unlock through AT&T to use with a Japanese sim card, anyone know how complicated it is to work with docomo or soft bank to get this phone a plan like an internet only plan or something? I am trying to save money while still being able to use line chat and make phone calls (using apps that give you a phone # for free)
