I live in Rome and have a student who wants to get a job in Finance outside Italy. I thought that ordinary IELTS would be enough for him as he has no academic expectations. What do others think? |

Yeah.
Send him to Luxembourg; the requirements for English there are pretty low and if he's 6 or above, they'll be totally impressed. |

IELTS Academic is for university. IELTS General is for migration/work. That said, IELTS Academic is harder, because the reading and writing are different (harder). Actually, for finance, Academic might be better, because you have to describe data for Writing Task 1 (it's quantitative). |

If he's looking for a job in Finance ICFE or even BULATS would be more appropriate than IELTS, but if he has his heart set on IELTS then go for general. |
