Such different tastes! I like mochi, natto, anko , yama imo, all that stuff. I had to think really hard what is the one Japanese food I don't like. It's melon pan. メロンパン
But I do like cantaloupe. |

It's available all over the world....every store in China has it pretty much. If you soak it in salt water for a while it's supposed to clean up the taste and be OK. Supposed to clean the liver.
I'm shocked at how many people think dancing shrimp would be bad...sounds amazing to me. I would consider flying Japan mostly just to try it. Sashimi in China is usually poorly prepared or ridiculously expensive or both.

| Goya with scrambled egg is not bad. The bitterness of the goya and the sweet egg contrasts nicely. One of my favorite izakaya side dishes. |

| I don't think goya is disgusting, but I've never had a food with goya in it that wouldn't have been better without it. |

I LOVE mochi, but I admit I didn't like it at first. I also like natto, but that took time, too. I still don't like "daikon", but I love "takuan"....hmmm, what else? Oh, I can't stand the smell or taste of coffee! And that is all Japanese seem to drink. Yuck! Even the kids drink it. |
Oh, dear child! You have grown up. I've come to like daikon. And coffee. I still don't drink drip coffee, but love me some sugary mocha topped with whip cream and chocolate syrup from a trendy over priced coffee shop! LOL. Actually, I also love Japanese can coffee, like Ito En etc. |
