HI everyone,

Is it possible for a Canadian citizen to apply for jobs through ARAMCO and RAYTHEON. In the case of Raytheon I noticed many of their job ads mentioned FBI and US gov't, etc which implies only American citizens need apply. Am I wrong? My interest with these two is simply because they offer the highest salaries (and best package). Unless there is a better company package out there I am unaware of?

Thanks

Raytheon employs U.S. citizens in Saudi Arabia on either accompanied or unaccompanied assignments, living and working in Jeddah. The work force includes Saudi nationals.

Saudi Aramco accepts Canadian teachers for EFL work.

If you hear of any Saudi Aramco EFL recruitment, you've got your ear closer to the ground than me sitting here in a Saudi Aramco office. Wink

I am being interviewed tomorrow by TEFL warehouse, which represents as a recruiter for Saudi Aramco. Obviously they don't offer the great packages as ARAMCO. 14,000 I believe is the offer.

I doubt very much you'll be working at an Aramco Industrial Training Centre with that kind of offer.

That level salary is more what you'd expect working either for what's called a Local Training Provider (LTP) such as Al Bassam and Al Khaleej or SPSP in the Dhahran area or, a much worse fate, somewhere like NITI.

In other words, the closest you'll get to Aramco is attempting to teach apprentices who might one day work for Aramco themselves. You won't see an Aramco facility and you definitely won't be working for Aramco yourself.

The only reason they mentioned Aramco in the job ad was to lure you in. And, guess what...

I have another offer from one of the new colleges of excellence in Saudi Arabia (salary: 16,000) so may just take that instead. My original goal was to land a 20K'r but...

I'm not sure where you came up with the figure of 20,000 SAR/month, but that's a pipe dream given your qualifications.

I found it on this forum actually in one of the posts. But I have to disagree it's a pipe dream. It's as doable as anything else.

Raytheon/Salts was paying more than that at one time....But that was then...and no idea if that kind of money is still on offer.

It is a very stressful work environment, though. So you can expect to burn out after just a few years....PM me if you want some more info...Like I said, I was there many years ago when the milk and honey was flowing.
