So I have applied to a CELTA course in both Madrid and Seville (IH) - sent in my application and my pre-interview task and I've been waiting now a WEEK to hear back from them. What's up? Does it usually take this long? I need to get things squared away so that I can plan and get the right dates. |

CELTA course providers receive a lot of applications. Be patient. |

A whole week (presumably including two weekend days), in the summer, at a busy centre? How dare they take so long in replying to you? |

Ring them. It's standard procedure in Spain and is not viewed as being pushy. Just say you want to check if they have received your application. |

i applied to CLIC sevilla a few months ago and personally had a very trying experience. in the end (after a good 2 months) i got accepted but had to decline (or at least postpone til 2005) because it took so long that all the slots available for the start date i needed were by that time gone. i am not saying this is typical and i don't doubt the quality or repubatiblity of the course/place, but it felt extremely unorganized and took a lot longer than i expected too. |

I got the response from the pre-interview task, now I have an interview next week. Did they tell you during the interview if you'd been accepted? Two months is rough. I'm applying to IH in Barcelona too, just to increase my chances. But again - it's taken a while to hear from them too. Hmmmmm. |

Yes, right after the interview they tell you. I think it took almost an hour and you have to call them so you might want to get a pre-paid calling card - that's what I did and it was only a few cents a minute.
Good luck! |

I applied to IH Barcelona recently. Within twenty-four hours of sending in my application they let me know they had received it and would schedule an interview. About a week after that they emailed me a scheduled time for a phone interview, I confirmed that time, and we had the interview about five days later. The interview lasted about fifteen minutes and they told me that I was accepted at the end of the interview. So all in all it was about a two-week process.
Response times from other IH schools were less satisfactory. Some information was unavailable on their website about dates, program costs, etc., and they often took more than a week to respond to my inquiries. This is why I'm very glad that I was accepted at Barcelona, where they seem really professional (I've also heard from several employers that the IH BCN program is highly regarded). |
