I think it is hard to generalize salaries by city, because other factors than location play a bigger part in determining salary amounts (in particular the kind of school or work in question). An equally important question is cost of living in different cities.

I imagine that job boards may still be your best resource for this. In particular, I would look through the current and old jobs on Chinajoblist.com, as posts there all include salary amounts and hours, can be viewed by city, and are easy to scroll through. You can look through jobs from past years there as well, so you can get a pretty good general idea for most cities.
In general, though, I haven't noticed many clear patterns in salaries by city, other than the more developed, higher tier places offering more. |
