I won't list specific videos, but for those of you who'll be heading to KSA for the first time, there are various YouTube clips on:housing/compounds
shopping
living in X city
driving in X city
specific universities, facilities
cultural activities Just do a search using Saudi [topic]. FYI: Don't expect every video clip to be in English.
Enjoy. |

Thanks Nomad soul, a lot of interesting videos. As you said some not in English, but getting to actually see some of these apartments/ compounds etc was helpful in getting a feel for it all. |

There's some nice Drifting videos on You Tube. They are very graphic so be forewarned. |

Ah, Mr. P - thank you for the drifting suggestion.
All I can say that once you have driven in a South African taxi you would find them quite par for the course! Yeah, many wonderful things can be said about my country, but driving is not our strong point.
And after spending 5+ years in China, driving becomes something you don't do yourself. My sister came to visit me and after ten minutes in a Chinese car (with a "professional" driver from a government agency), she simply closed her eyes, slumped down in the back seat and refused to surface until we were are our destination...
Looking forward to my Saudi driving experiences |

....."some not in English"........
Good to get used to hearing Arabic. You will be immersed in it if ever you get to KSA. For some people there are real problems in living in a foreign-language environment. Some never get used it ! |

Bumping this thread since it's the start of the recruitment season.
The point isn't to include random web links here (folks can find links on their own), but to remind job seekers that there are videos that offer visuals of specific KSA universities/schools, malls, compounds, cities, etc. |

So true, but the overall environs have a huge effect too! In other words, if you don't like the culture and the people (only there for the money), or the general filth and toxicity, then it's time to take the money and run. |

Huh? Seriously, there are enough YouTube videos in English (about KSA and every other country) that give job seekers an idea of what to expect when deciding to apply or accept a job offer abroad. Folks should determine ahead of time if they can hack both the job and living environment. |
