Hey Guys,
I was just wondering, the Z visa that you get for being an ESL teacher, is it usually a multi or single entry visa? Was just wondering for travel purposes during vacation etc.. |

The Z-visa is single entry. Residence permit is infinite entries as far as I know. |

Yeah, just get a single entry. It's cheaper (for your employer), I think?
You'll convert the Z Visa to a residency permit well within your first month anyway, so the multiple entry Z Visa is a bit pointless, unless you're planning to travel outside China within your first month here.
Once you have the RP, you're free to go where you want. |

The government no longer issues multiple entry Z visas.
There are many threads on this topic.
As an English teacher you need to understand the basic English definitions of a visa and a resident permit as it pertains to China.
And, it is common sense really.
A visa only allows you to physically enter the country.
A resident permit, as its name implies as well, is what allows you to live and or exit and re-enter the country.
It's unfortunate really. |
