Dear Johnslat

He isn't as good as Vyshinsky, but good judges are hard to mould these days...

Dear Sasha,

Well, he's definitely moldy. But in a spirit of reconciliation, a gift for you:

Feel the Burn - want to feel like a colleague of Justice Scalia who dissents with his opinions- or just anyone who doesn't agree with his 1950 (B.C., that is) beliefs. Well, now you can. Click on the link below and experience the Wrath of Scalia. I did - and got burned so bad that I'll probably require multiple skin grafts:

“One would think that John Slattery's interpretations are pretentious and quite absurd. That, alas, is not a novelty.”

Aaaarrrggghhhhh.

John

"One would think that sasha droogie's sentiments are black-robed aphorisms. Ask the nearest hippie.”

Not sure what it means... But my agents are already in the field...

Uh-oh, NOW we're in trouble:

"Russian President Vladimir Putin Rebukes U.S. for Abandoning God and Christian Values by Promoting Homosexuality and Homosexual Marriage"

But it is refreshing to see an ex-KGB officer affirming the existence of God and supporting "Christian values." Very Happy

Dear Johnslat

Haven't you got the memo? The Church is back, and the KGB are the most fervent parishioners. Something about the absolutism involved... Strikes a national chord hic!

Dear Johnslat

Me? No, never. I am simply biding my time in order to unleash a full-scale purge of the ranks. Away to the camps with these backsliders...

You bring up a good point here. The Left of the 60s and 70s argued that marriiage was a patriarchal and oppressive institution and now they argued for (and won) the right for homosexuals to get married.

Makes sense in a way. The Left went from fighting the Establishment to being the Establishment.

Somehow this puts me in mind of the Catholic Church's traditional objection to gay marriage: "Next, they'll want gay divorce!" Evil or Very Mad

Is this a clever out-of-left-field allusion to marriage of some sort which is over my head, or did you mean to post this on the Saudi board?Wink
