Ramadan may have ended but don't expect things to get back to normal anytime soon.
Eid has a tendency to be prolonged well beyond its official dates and more important, Hajj is right around the corner (+ - 20 Sept).
This means, for example, that some universities will start classes around 25 August, conduct classes for a couple of weeks AND THEN CLOSE DOWN FOR 2 WEEKS FOR HAJJ. (This schedule affects other institutions also, not just academia).
By the time it's all said and done, it won't be until approx. October 1 that things will really settle back down to "normal".
My point is that newcomers to KSA should be aware that "delays" of all kinds are to be expected during this prolonged "holiday" season. |

| Banks closed for two weeks during the holiday, labor offices (not that it would make any difference), embassies. Be sure to take out plenty of money from the ATM's before they're all depleted. |
