Hi,
Has anyone had to get their documents attested for a visa application for Saudi Arabia so far? Did you use the online form (at http://www.uksacb.org/) or did you get your documents attested by your university and then send them to the Saudi Cultural Bureau by post?
Best regards,
Nicholas |

The degree has to be attested by the SACB (in the US SACM). You can do it yourself or via a visa agent. |

The usual procedure is to get the degree notarised by a solicitor or public notary, and then send it to the FCO in Milton Keynes.

Once all this is done you send the documents to the Saudi Cultural Bureau. |

I've been told that, as of May, it's no longer done through the FCO. It's apparently only done through the Saudi Cultural Bureau now.
Last year, the visa agent took care of it for me (as one would expect with the fees they charge). This year, a different visa agent has asked me to sort it out myself. |

That FCO link that I posted was updated on the 1st June so I am not sure if that is the case.. You should be able to check, anyway. |

I send my college BA and my TESOL grad school MA (along with accompanying paperwork) to SACM to authenticate/stamp. They stamped my BA, but didn't even open the envelops from my grad school. They just wrote "Not Recxxxxxx" (text was illegible) on the transcript envelop.
I have resent them docs for my TESOL MA, plus docs from my University of Chicago MA (not ESL related). I've waited two weeks now, and the stamped diplomas haven't come back. In an email on Friday, they say it's "in process." SACM claims the post-Ramadan vacation has left them very backed-up. So I'm still waiting. |

FYI: The OP is inquiring about the UK process.
For the US, you're only required to send the SACM the one university degree and supporting academic documentation that qualifies you for the position. Otherwise, you end up delaying the process. |

It depends where you are applying for your visa and who your employer is. |

I only sent them my BA degree
I'm referring to the British SACM.
They had no need of my masters degree attestation to process my employment visa, |

Just starting the process now (in UK).
The copy of the degree/degrees/certs go to SACM in London.
The medical form has to be legalised by the FCO in Milton Keynes. |

What kind of BA do you have? Is it in English or Education?
Two years ago I applied for a Saudi work visa in London with just my degrees. The agent called me back and specifically asked for the Trinity TESOL cert as well.. My visa was held up because SACM wanted all the qualifications. |

Hi all. I know this might be irrelevant to the topic but I would like to ask a question. I've applied for a few positions and had a few interviews. I only have a Masters (Not ESL related), a Cambridge CELTA and over 5 years work experience. Will I only be accepted if I had a BA? I.e will my application only be processed with a minimum of a BA + TESOL/TEFL/CELTA?
Thank you all in advance. (You can tell I'm new😁) |

I don't think there is a hard and fast rule about that. In fact, I know there hasn't been in the past.
However, with UK applicants now needing attestation things may have changed.
Lots of things in Saudi are malleable, especially rules and policies. There is always an exception!
That's probably not the sort of definitive answer you were hoping to get here but I'm afraid it is pretty accurate. Perhaps you'll be able to post your experience so that everyone can chime in with their 'exceptions'. |

For clarification:
Saudi Arabia Cultural Bureau (SACB) in the UK, http://uksacb.org/uk-en1313/
Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission (SACM) in the US, www.sacm.org |

Job ads that state a BA as the minimum simply indicate the lowest level of acceptable education for the position. By the way, be aware that degrees that entailed online coursework are not accepted.
If you have other questions, I suggest you start a separate thread specific to your situation. |
