I'm going to be working at a public school this year, but have been considering taking an intensive Chinese course at a local college next year; the problem, however, is that the classes are held from about 8-1 during weekdays, which conflicts with a public school's schedule. I haven't had any luck finding night classes in my area, so I was wondering if it would be possible to work at a private language school next year while attending the course. Basically, is it typical for language schools to schedule morning/early afternoon classes on weekdays? I've heard that many of the schools typically have night/weekend classes, so I was thinking it might be possible, but I don't know much about it. Can anyone provide some information about that?

Your best bet is to contact a language school directly. Not all schools are the same, but the general vibe on here is anti-language school. My personal language school experience was Mon-Fri only, with all classes between the hours of 08:30 and 16:40. But only the employer can confirm that with you.

Yes, the vibe is anti-language school, anti-university, anti-recruiter, and anti everything else for some, of course excluding their own mythical current job teaching very low hours for very high pay to smiling, obedient students who give invariably high ratings to the beloved foreign teacher.

I think standard M-F, 9-5 hours are uncommon with language schools. More likely is something like 1-9 pm weekdays and more expanded weekend hours.

EF's hours would be Monday/Tuesday off and then Wednesday to Friday would be like 4pm to 8.30pm and then full weekends 8.30am to 6pm.
