There's nothing wrong with a student who is paying for information about English to ask for Idioms or something that he specifically wants. There are many different aspect of English and each student has his own way of learning and his own interests. Now if he demanded it he may have to go elsewhere if you can't provide him with that area of English. It's a good opportunity for you to look up familiarize yourself with Idioms used in English.

I don't have any money to do a TESL course. I'm barely scrapping by trying to even get a job at all here. My folks are thinking about going to Vietnam in November and were asking me if I was on holiday during that time to go with them ( I got kicked out of grad school recently and haven't told them yet) but it would be nice to just get away for a while and if I went to Vietnam I could probably approach some schools and ask them if they are hiring esl teachers.

Do you guys know anything about this university http://www.abroadchina.org/ad/cd-1443443674.htm

I'm thinking about maybe applying there but can't find any info about it.

Ask about the university on the China forum.

My take is that your plans aren't cohesive and you have high (unrealistic) expectations about TEFL, among other issues. I suggest you primarily focus your energy on gaining steady employment in your home country in a city where jobs are plentiful because you'll need money for start-up costs and a proper in-person TEFL training course. Also, be open to other countries for potential teaching opportunities; China isn't the only country in the world that needs EFL teachers.
