Next week I anticipate walking back into the classroom and seeing students that I have taught for a few terms now. They have already seen my go to intro lessons and I am coming up blank with ideas for opening day. Any suggestions?

A cocktail party game. Need a fairly big group and an open space.

If they already know you there's no need for an intro lesson. Just go straight to whatever your second class would have been.

I was just thinking of an easy and light for them opener/ice breaker. Some cocktail party stuff might work.

PM me if you need direction to an online set - in fact 3 sets, each of 60 questions - tertiary students, middle and high school and tourism.
Small initial cost but once you have 'em you can go on recopying.

Introduction of the syllabus, explaining assessments, getting students to reflect on their expectations from the course, etc. It also depends on what the course is, might be worth having them give one minute presentations on what they did during the break.

I think OP (if I remember right) is doing listening speaking.
Coming back after summer, I would keep it light and fun.
